5th Annual Northbrook Originals Juried Show On Exhibition Throughout January
The Northbrook Arts Commission in collaboration with the Northbrook Public Library is pleased to announce the 2008 Northbrook Only Exhibition for Northbrook resident artists to display their original artwork. This show is in the library from January 3 to January 30, 2008. This is a wonderful opportunity for Northbrook’s artists to have their original artwork seen by the community. The show was juried by Alain Gavin, an instructor at the School of the Art Institue in Chicago and Judy Miller, a member of the Northbrook Arts Commission.
Winners will also have their work displayed in our online exhibition catalog.
Survey
The Northbrook Arts Commission conducted a survey of residents relating to the Arts.
- 22% of the surveys mailed were returned! (247 of 910)
- 62% were "Adults Only Households"
- 90% of the surveys returned were from non-artists/performers
- 16% attend Art Related Classes
- 197 of the 247 surveys returned have attended arts events in Northbrook (80%)
- 141 have attended school concerts (57%)
- 137 have attended Northbrook Festivals (55%)
- 101 go to Park Fest (40%)
- 101 go to the Art Show at Northbrook Court (40%)
- 76 have attended concerts at the Library (30%)
- 40 have attended Arts in Northbrook (16%)
- 40 have attended Park District plays (16%)
- 31 have attended Shermerfest (13%)
- 31 have attended Concerts at Techny Divine Word (13%)
- 29 have attended the Northbrook Symphony (11%)
- 7 have attended Center on Deafness - Center Light (3%)
- 5 have attended Special Gifts Theatre (2%)
