Spring Workshop 2013

Pastel Portrait Workshop with Sally Baker Keller, May 4 & 5, 2013 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
SALLY BAKER KELLER has been painting portraits and studying art since her childhood in Minnesota. She was a Fine Arts Major at the University of Denver and later studied figure drawing and painting at the American Academy of Art in Chicago.

Her lifelong interest in portraiture stems from a deep appreciation for the uniqueness and dignity of the individual; qualities that she endeavors to portray in her paintings. Working in various media, including Pastel, Oil, Colored Pencil, Charcoal and Graphite, Sally strives to achieve her subject’s likeness in a painterly composition. She especially enjoys using soft pastels on a sanded surface to create exciting multi-layered paintings with rich depths of color, which enhance the visual form.
Sally’s creative projects have ranged from complex family portraits, including children and pets, to challenging corporate commissions. Her artwork can be found in several private and corporate collections, such as Baxter Healthcare Corporation, Prentice Women’s Hospital, United Airlines and Western Union. She has also exhibited and won awards in numerous local and national juried shows.
Sally lives in Gurnee, Illinois and currently teaches portrait workshops as well as private painting lessons. She continues to participate in select art shows and festivals, and is an active member of the Lake County Art League and Artists on the Bluff.
