About the Commission
The Northbrook Arts Commission was established to encourage greater cooperation between governmental organizations, not-for-profit corporations, and individuals to promote the arts, assist in village arts initiatives, and provide a convenient vehicle for applying for and overseeing the administration of grants and other funding initiatives.
The Commission shall be guided by the mission of encouraging the development and enjoyment of the arts in the Village of Northbrook. For the purposes of the mission, arts shall include:
- the exhibition of works of art
- the conduct of programs of music and the performing arts
- the exhibition of historical objects
- the presentation of dramatic productions
- and other exhibitions and performances enhancing the cultural and intellectual level of the village
Please join us at a Northbrook Arts Commission meeting on the first Thursday of each month. The meetings are held in the Tower Room, second floor at the Village Hall, 1225 Cedar Lane, at 7:00 pm. Occassionally, the meeting is rescheduled so please check the community calendar to ensure that the meeting has not been rescheduled.
Email us if you have a community event which you would like to appear on our calendar.
